Review

From the collaborative talents and imaginations of bestselling authors Connie Brockway, Eloisa James and Julia Quinn, comes THE LADY MOST LIKELY: A NOVEL IN THREE PARTS.

Connie Brockway

“Hugh Dunne, the Earl of Briarly, needs a wife—so his sister hands him a list of the very best young ladies on the market. And then, because he refuses to tear himself away from the stables where he trains Arabian racehorses, she invites all those ladies to a house party, along with some other bachelors, of course. So who will Hugh choose? The Botticelli-esque, enchanting Gwendolyn? The outspoken, delightful Katherine? If he doesn’t work fast, he’ll lose those ladies to his closest friends, and then where will he look for a wife? Perhaps, just perhaps, toward a lady who’s not on a market at all, and would require a great deal of persuading…”

A joy to read from start to finish and I highly recommend

This delightful story of three couples, brought together during a country house party with the ulterior motive of finding a bride for the hostesses brother the Earl of Briarly. After suffering a “near death experience” the horse-mad and socially elusive Earl asks his sister to create a list of potential brides for him to choose from during the party. To keep things on a socially even keel, of course, a fair share of bachelors must be invited as well.

Julia Quinn

Julia Quinn

In a romantic comedy of Eros that would do the Bard, himself proud, this trio of authors matchmaking tale is loaded with light farce, sweet romance and well crafted sub-stories that could easily stand alone but fit perfectly within the context of the story as a whole.

I can only think that the authors must have had old Wil Shakespeare’s,  A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM in mind when rounding out the novels final chapter and all I can say is “well played”! A joy to read from start to finish and I highly recommend that any fans old or new by these three authors, pick up a copy of THE LADY MOST LIKELY the next time you visit your local book store.
