When it comes to writing humorous romance, Lynsay Sands has truly raised the bar whether it’s a modern vampire cleaning up doggy mess in a kitchen apron or a stiff Regency lord going Mrs. Doubtfire to help his lady; her stories never fail to tickle the funny bone.

THE COUNTESS, is the first book in the new Madison Sisters series and continues the Sand’s tradition of offering a good dose of light-hearted fun to compliment the romance perfectly.

“The fairy tale courtship did not turn into a happily ever after…

Not until her husband dropped dead, that is. He had been horrible enough to Christiana during their short marriage, and she was not going to allow the traditional period of mourning to ruin her sisters’ debuts as well. So Christiana decides to put him on ice and go on as if nothing’s happened…

Until the real earl appears. Richard Fairgrave had every intention of confronting his villainous twin who robbed him of his name and title…only to discover that he’d died. Quietly assuming his identity, Richard must now deal with a maddening desire for his ravishing inherited “wife”—certainly a gold digger and possibly a murderess. And Christiana must deal with an unwanted new “husband”…and they both must figure out what to do before the ice melts!”

…it is the romance that brings it all together as the mystery surrounding Dickie’s death unfolds…

I couldn’t help but having a few Weekend at Bernie’s flashbacks (In an entirely good way) during the various characters attempts to move and conceal Dickie’s body under the ever watchful eyes of the staff and each other—suffice it to say, no one has an easy time of it and the results are hysterical.

Although the humor plays a large role in making this story so special, it is the romance that brings it all together as the mystery surrounding Dickie’s death unfolds and Christiana and Richard discover that sometimes life does give you a second chance for happiness and love.

The story continues on February 22nd, with the release of the second book in the Madison Sisters series, THE HEIRESS. I cannot wait to read what happens next!
