Waking Up with the Duke by Lorraine Heath

No one knows how to satisfy the romantic soul better than Lorraine Heath. Her latest book, “Waking up with the Duke” is her third installment in the “London’sGreatest Lovers” is no exception.

They are masters of seduction, London’s greatest lovers . . .

Renowned for his bedchamber prowess, Ransom Seymour, the Duke of Ainsley, owes a debt to a friend. But the payment expected is most shocking, even to an unrepentant rake – for he’s being asked to provide his friend’s
exquisite wife with what she most dearly covets: a child.

Living for pleasure, they will give their hearts to no one . . .

Lady Jayne Seymour, Marchioness of Walfort, is furious that such a scandalous agreement would be made. If she acquiesces, there must be rules: no kissing . ..and, certainly, no pleasure.

Until love takes them by surprise.

But unexpected things occur with the surprisingly tender duke – especially once Lady Jayne discovers the rogue can make her dream again . . . and Ransom realizes he’s found the one woman he truly cannot live without.”

The Amorous Education of Celia Seaton by Miranda Neville

Another positively delightful story from the imaginative heart and mind of Miranda Neville arrived on the bookshelves recently in the form of “The Amorous Education of Celia Seaton”; the third installment in her wonderful “Burgundy Club” series.

“Being kidnapped teaches Miss Celia Seaton a few things about life
LESSON ONE
Never disrobe in front of a gentleman … unless his request comes at gunpoint.
LESSON TWO
If, when lost on the moors, you encounter Tarquin Compton, the leader of London society who ruined your marriage prospects, deny any previous acquaintance.
LESSON THREE
If offered an opportunity to get back at Mr. Compton, the bigger the lie, the better. A faux engagement should do nicely.
LESSON FOUR
Not all knowledge is found between the covers of a book. But an improper book may further your education in ways you never guessed.
And while an erotic novel may be entertaining,
the real thing is even better”

“Just Like Heaven” by Julia Quinn

A more appropriately titled novel as one could imagine comes in the form of “Just Like Heaven” by the outrageously talented, Julia Quinn. Why? Well, since you asked I will tell you—because, from first page to last, this story was a small slice of Heaven that could surely brighten the day of even the gloomiest Gus or sad-sack Sally lucky enough to pick up a copy.

REVIEW: Seduce Me by Cheryl Holt

The Romantic Times hit the nail on the head when they dubbed Cheryl Holt the “Best Storyteller of the Year” and proof of that claim can easily be found in her charming new novella “Seduce Me”.

Seduce MeTypically my area of reading interest remains firmly in the realm of historical romance so when I was given a copy of this story to read, I was a bit hesitant. That hesitancy became non-existent before the end of the first paragraph. The world around me literally fell away for the next two hours as I eagerly thumbed through the pages of Lucas and Faith’s journey from unknown adversaries to playful lovers, friends and ultimately the realization that they were meant for each other. BLISS!

“Follow My Lead” by Kate Noble

I simply love Kate Noble! Her latest “Follow My Lead” is like Gatorade on a scorching hot day—it’s just that refreshing.

“Jason Cummings, Duke of Rayne is feeling the weight of his responsibilities – one of which is to get married. Being the most sought after bachelor in London can be trying, so who can blame him if he seeks refuge from the voracious hordes of young debutantes at the decidedly female-free Historical Society? Female-free, that is, until Winnifred Crane marches up to the door, demanding entrance.

Despite her prowess as a historian, Winn is denied membership to the Society. So she daringly offers an unusual bargain: if she can prove the authenticity of a certain painting, she’ll be granted recognition, fame, and respect. But to do that, she must go abroad. And to go abroad, she must have an escort, even a stubbornly unwilling one…

Jason has no desire to accompany Winn on her adventure across Europe, but even he is not immune to Winn’s passion for her profession. As the journey proves more difficult than planned, they must work together to stay one step ahead of their rivals… and the closer they get to the proof Winn seeks, the closer she and Jason become. But as their adventure turns dangerous, can Jason keep this headstrong bluestocking safe? And what will become of their growing bond when the adventure ends?”

The adventures of the “Writing Girls” continue in book two of the series, “A Tale of Two Lovers”. This time around, author Maya Rodale has brought together Lady Julianna Somerset a “Lady of Distinction” who makes her living reporting on the juiciest scandals of the ton’s elite and the man who provides the most intriguing fodder for her column, Lord Simon Roxbury—notable rake of the first order.

BOOK REVIEW: “The Countess” by Lynsay Sands

When it comes to writing humorous romance, Lynsay Sands has truly raised the bar whether it’s a modern vampire cleaning up doggy mess in a kitchen apron or a stiff Regency lord going Mrs. Doubtfire to help his lady; her stories never fail to tickle the funny bone.

The Countess, is the first book in the new Madison Sisters series and continues the Sand’s tradition of offering a good dose of light-hearted fun to compliment the romance perfectly.
